Where Curiosity, Critical Thinking, & Creativity Abound
Kick off your shoes, click around, and hang out for a bit!
If you've clicked around my site at all, you've probably already stumbled across my bio wondering, "Who is this girl?" Well, my bio covers different contexts in which I operate, but I have so much story to share and people and questions and thoughts to introduce you to along the way.
My passion is empowering those around me to shed poor theology and harmful teachings or assumptions that we may have internalized to step into the fullness of gifting, authority, and power God has created you to embody amidst his creation. I hope that you'll stick around, and hopefully we can spur each other on to growth and closer relationship with God & our neighbors along the way.

My Family
My husband and I got married on October 7, 2023. Some time soon, I'm sure I'll share a post sharing a little more about what makes our story so cosmically amusing, but I'll just layout the key points here.
We met at the end of Covid.
We have no idea who liked who first.
He's Mixed Mexican, Iranian, and a lil bit o' White.
I'm Mixed Vietnamese and White.
He's an Evangelist with a heart for serving and caring for people.
I'm a Cultural Apologist/Teacher with a heart for empowering people to think critically and ask questions to grow in relationship with our God and making space for overlooked voices to be heard.
We have a cat named Momo (whom I rescued off the streets of my apartment complex because I'm pretty sure some family had been neglecting him and decided to dump him).
We take the Family of God seriously.
We love our people.
My family is much bigger than just us, and it's bigger than DNA.
My Background
I have a background of working for, attempting to make better, and leaving a large White evangelical megachurch in Texas. I also worked with a small Black/Brown church in the marginalized part of my city who I also had a heart to support, and also wound up needing to leave.
I'm the child of a Vietnamese refugee (the oldest child--and a firstborn son--of my Viet side of the family who came to the States) and a Dallas turned Austin turned Houston woman of God. I'm also the child of two divorces that I'm thankful for in more ways than one.
I desire to be part of God's plan to make it on earth as it is in heaven. I desire to seek justice, love mercy, and walk humbly with my God. I desire to set an example for the believers in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith, and in purity. I desire to seek God first, and trust and already know that he will continue to make himself known and care for me as I do.
I have one more note for a certain group of people. If you have ever been harmed by the Church, I am so sorry. If you've been told that you're too loud, or too much, or not enough, or too sinful for God, I am so sorry. They were wrong.
Whoever you are, wherever you've been, and wherever you're going, thanks for being here. I can't wait to get to know you, and I hope my words can serve you in some way or another along your journey. Feel free to click around the rest of KT's Korner, drop a comment, and follow me on socials!
